Introduction to the Toolkit

At the start of the NEST project it was decided to find ways of simplifying all steps of the EMAS process. The NEST project has developed and tested a revised EMAS methodology based on the following structure.

Guidance document for the toolkit
Spreadsheet recording tool (Microsoft .xls format)
Training and support

The Implementation of the EMAS process utilised a simple spreadsheet and associated implementation manual. The project was broken down to seven principle tasks: introducing the principles of EMAS; selecting services in which to implement EMAS; implementing EMAS; audit and verification; developing and delivering the dissemination strategy, and exploring an exit strategy.
